In 2018 Lamu fishermen received a comforting news after the High Court ruled in their favor — that they must be compensated with ksh. 1.76bn for the losses incurred because of the dredging of the sea that was being done at Lamu Port area. Now, 3 years down the line, Lamu fishermen have still not received their compensation.

HE President of the Republic of Kenya is expected to commission the port after completion of the first 3 berths. Find our attached press release for a detailed account of fishermen concerns.
