Save Lamu is proud to announce that it received the runners up award for the Civil Society Organisation of the year (“Asasi ya Jamii”) at the 2011 Pwani Human Rights Award Ceremony. The ceremony is an annual event organized by Muslims for Human Rights (MUHURI) to mark the International Human Rights Day every 10th of December.

The award aims at promoting a strong human rights culture where individuals and organized groups are at the forefront of promoting and protecting civil liberties and fundamental freedoms specifically at the Coast Region.

We would like to thank our volunteers and partners for their continued support towards our campaign to save Lamu. With the recognition of all our combined efforts, we hope that this award will continue to inspire our supporters to keep up their efforts.
